March 4, 2016

We stopped at Redwood City on our way up the coast to visit with Tom's sister Mildred and her family.  During that time, we made a side trip to Half Moon Bay and stayed one night at the State Beach.  That evening we had a wonderful Thai dinner cooked by Tom's friend, from school, Christine Wynkoop-Lambrecht and had a very nice visit with her and her husband.  The next day we rode our bikes on the Half Moon Bay Coastal Trail, even though it was sprinkling lightly.  It's a beautiful, scenic trail that goes along the beach bluff and winds through the cypress trees.

To visit the sightes in Monterey, we camped in a neighboring town, Marina, at the Marina Dunes.

The sites were beautiful and very private.  Private sites are THE BEST!!

Hearst Castle

We did just one of the 5 tours, the grand rooms.  Another beautiful day.  It was an amazing estate.  I've wanted to see this place since I was a kid.

Pismo Beach, California

We parked at Dinosaur Caves Park and spent the day here.  It was a lovely.  Sunny and warm.  Took a bike tour around the neighborhood to find a spot to park for the night.  We got kicked out by a officer of the law.  We moved to a different spot.  The same officer kicked us out of there too.  But he did give us a nice suggestion of were to park for the night,
