We've stayed the last three nights at the Escapees' Co-op RV resort "Timber Valley".  Tonight is our last night here. Tomorrow we head out to Crater Lake.  Earlier this morning we went into Roseburg, OR to shop and for a bit of biking on the Riverfront trail.  It seems almost every town in Oregon that is on a river has a Riverfront Park and/or a Riverfront trail.

Our spot at the Escapees Timber Valley Resort.

The Riverfront Trail in Roseburg, Oregon goes through a oak forest.  By the way, three days after we were in Roseburg, a shooter killed 9 people at the college.  We were in the wrong place at the right time.

Saturday, September 26

We're settled in at the Escapees RV park in Sutherlin.  Yes, we're Escapees.  Today we traveled along the Umpqua River out to the coast.  It is more than beautiful and I highly recommend it. There were a couple of viewpoints for gaping at elk, and there were elk, but nowhere near the viewpoints.  We made a stop at the Umpqua Discovery Center in Reedsport, then headed up the coast to Florence.  Before  we got to Florence, we took a couple of short hikes.

We spent the night at an RV repair place.  Our heater quit working so we had repairs done which included a new thermostat.  While we were waiting, we took our bikes to a trail that ran along the Willamette River.  It was absolutely beautiful.  What a great ride!!!

September 23, 2015

The first date is the date I posted.  The second date is when it happened.  I'm really not so good at writing.  I hope I can change that.  I need to put in more details.  On the 23rd we went and looked at a couple of covered bridges that were near Sweet Home, OR.  Did you know that there are 50 covered bridges in Oregon?  Neither did I.

On September 21 -23 we parked in Sam and Cecile's driveway in Sweet Home, OR.  Tom knows Sam from way back when he lived in Half Moon Bay, CA.  On the 22nd we took a very nice hike with them to a couple of waterfalls in McDowell Creek County Park.

Silver Falls State Park.  I wish we could have stayed longer.  There is 10 waterfalls in the park but we only had time to hike to one...South Falls.

I asked Tom to smile and this is what he gives me.  What's up with that?

Driving down the Hood Canal.
Here we be,... ready for our new adventure!!!

I'm adding some shots of the inside of our motor-home at a much later date.  I don't know if anyone will actually see these, but I just wanted them included.
